Can we talk about this movie for just a second?
It was on AMC this morning.*  I watched it.  I have a big note.
So they added a bunch of girls to this one after the original Sandlot had like two female characters and neither of them were important.  There’s three girl softball players who show up the boys and join the team and are essential components of baseball glory and off field dog-related hijinks.  Hooray feminism.
Then we get to the end.  Like the original movie it ends with a voiceover describing the rest of the characters lives.  One kid goes to war, one group of kids forms Def Jam Records, you know normal believable stuff.  Two of the three girls are covered in one sentence where the entire rest of their lives is summed up with the fact that both of them had three kids.  Girls can play sports and be interesting but only until it’s time for them to start making babies.  Then they have to cut that shit out.

*Remember when AMC was American Movie Classics?
